Tri-County Basketall League Policies
AAU REQUIREMENTS
AAU MEMBERSHIP YEARS RUN FROM SEPTEMBER 1ST THROUGH AUGUST 31ST.
Those applying for a Non-Athlete or Adult Athlete membership will have a background check performed, therefore, adult applications will not be approved instantly and must wait for the background check to complete before receiving your AAU Membership Number. This process can take anywhere from 1 to 10 business days to complete. Insurance is a benefit of membership and is effective as of the date payment is received for youth athletes and as of the date the background check passes for adults.
Memberships must always be paid and member number issued prior to participation in any activity (including practices and try-outs).
GRADE LEVEL...NOT AGE BASED
Tri-County AAU Basketball League has a division level policy that is not subject to age-level exceptions. The policy indicates that a player can play up a grade level, however cannot play down if that player is outside of our divisions. Tri-County AAU Basketball will hold that a player is in the same grade athletically as he or she is academically. No exceptions will be made for this policy.

Our grade level divisions are 3rd and 4th grade combined, 5th and 6th grade combined, 7th and 8th grade combined. Tri-County AAU Basketball will hold that a player is in the same grade athletically as he or she is academically.
Please remember that all rostered players may only be rostered on one team. A team consists of players feeding the same high school, exceptions only with prior approval in writing before registering.

Youth: 1st/2nd
Intermediate: 3rd/4th Grade, 5th/6th Grade and Girls 7th/8th Grade
Men's Regulation: Boys 7th/8th Grade
SEASON LENGTH AND DATES
DATES FOR 2023-24, ALL DATES RESERVED MAY NOT BE USED:
Saturdays in January and February
HOW LONG WILL THE SEASON BE?
Our hope is to give each team 6 games, and those will be played on Saturdays in January and February. Gym availability does have to work around school functions, sometimes we will have to change an already posted schedule. 7th week will be tournament. Depending on teams. 1-2 day tournament
GAME DATE AND/OR TIME CHANGE
If a team is unable to play on a Tri-County Basketball League weekend, notification must be made at the time of team registration (only one “bye” request per team will be considered-not guaranteed). Once schedules are posted on the website the league schedule is set, game date/time switches will not be allowed. The schedules are provided to coaches in a timely manner. It is up to each coach to ensure that the team is informed of the team schedule and that they will field a team for each game that they are scheduled to play.
If your team does have to forfeit, please notify us as soon as possible, this will not be made up and will count towards the 7 game guarantee. We will attempt to find a team to fill this game, any team filling this slot will not have this game counted towards their 7 game guarantee.
